Karin Hines, Montessori Directress/Montessori Program Director/Director of Daycare
Karin is originally from Germany where she graduated with an ECE and Kindergarten Degree in 1978. She received her AMI Diploma (Association Montessori Internationale) from the Montessori Institute NW in Portland, OR in 1984 and has been a Montessori guide in Richland, WA ever since.

Karin founded Sagebrush Montessori in 1996 after the birth of her son who had been the inspiration in opening her own school. He will be graduating from Kennewick High with
an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2014.

As a family with her husband and son, Karin enjoys skiing, white water rafting, and hiking. Karin loves to read and travel.

Terri Allen, Montessori Directress/Daycare Program Supervisor
 Terri Allen is a primary guide at Sagebrush Montessori and has been since it was founded in 1996. She received her Montessori certificate in 1989 from Montessori Teacher Preparation of Washington, which belongs to the MIA, an international training association that has been preparing guides since 1973. Terri has been serving as a guide since graduating, and has been working with Karin for over twenty years. 

Terri has three daughters, all of whom attended Montessori schools. She also has eight grandchildren, three of whom attended Sagebrush Montessori.

Terri spends her spare time biking, hiking, gardening, and drinking way too much coffee with her husband.


Heidi Dagle, Classroom Assistant
Heidi has been with Sagebrush Montessori since November 1996. For the first 8 years, she was the daycare provider for the before and after school “Children’s Room”, and since then has been an assistant in the classroom. Additionally, she is the substitute for the Children’s Room.

She has two  Associate Degrees – one in Criminal Justice and one in Art. She has taken the required course work to run a daycare program as well as continuing classes in Early Childhood education to stay current. Heidi is married, and has no children. Outside of Sagebrush Montessori, her work with children and youth continues through her volunteer work at her church working with middle and high school kids.


Prashanthi Kukkadapu, Classroom Assistant

Prashanthi Kukkadapu has been assisting Mrs. Karin for seven years. She has been associated with Sagebrush Montessori since 1998, initially as a parent, one year as parent/teacher’s assistant, and for the past 6 years as teacher’s assistant. Her experiences as a parent motivated her to join Sagebrush Montessori.

Prashanthi’s children are now 12 and 19 years old. Her oldest is a college freshman and the youngest is a middle schooler.  Her husband is a senior scientist at Battelle. Prashanthi moved from India to the US 20 years ago and holds a Bachelor’s degrees in both Economics/Accountants and Law.  

Prashanthi enjoys  free time with her family and friends, volunteering at Sunday school.  She  loves to read and cook while listening/watching Bollywood music.     

Jill Briggs, Daycare Provider

Jill grew up in Kent, Washington with 4 brothers, 7 sisters and very patient parents. She graduated from Kentridge High School and worked for Nordstrom’s for 12 years before moving to the Tri-Cities, in 1990.

She and her  husband Curt  were married in 1989 and have 2 wonderful sons – Alex 23 and Andrew 21. Her son Alex had Terri Allen as his Montessori Preschool teacher 20 years ago and Andrew had Karin here at Sagebrush Montessori Preschool 18 years ago.

Jill enjoys gardening, traveling, bicycling, long walks, kayaking, dancing and just having fun with friends and family.

Jill has worked for Sagebrush Montessori Preschool off and on since it first opened in 1996 and is currently the daycare provider in the ‘Children’s Room’. She really enjoys working with young children.
